Choose your booth and challenge

You will operate for 10 fair days. Read the rules, pick a challenge, and use the same metrics to compare your decisions.

Challenge mode

How the model works

Turn a simple booth into a controlled business experiment

Price and demand

A higher price increases contribution per cup but usually lowers purchase interest. Compare profit, not revenue alone.

Quality and unit cost

Better ingredients can support reputation and demand, but every cup costs more. Watch whether customers value the improvement.

Capacity and waste

Helpers raise serving capacity. A bigger batch prevents stockouts but creates waste when demand is lower than expected.

Weather and uncertainty

Forecasts are useful but imperfect. Keep enough cash to survive a weak day and avoid treating one run as proof.

Responsible-use note: this fictional model teaches comparisons; it does not include every food-safety rule, permit, allergen, tax, labor, or school policy. A real booth must follow local rules and adult supervision requirements. Read the Lemonade Stand strategy guide for a controlled-test method, break-even example, and detailed real-world limits.

Simulator FAQ

Lemonade stand questions

How do you make a profit in the lemonade stand simulator?

Begin near the default settings. Watch unsold cups and customers who leave, then adjust one variable. Your price contribution and cups sold must cover ingredients, location, helpers, and promotion.

What changes between Easy, Standard, and Hard challenges?

Easy gives more cash, stronger demand, and a lower target. Standard uses the normal model. Hard gives less cash, more volatile demand, higher costs, and a higher target.

Does the simulator save personal information?

The current game and best profit for each challenge are saved only in this browser using localStorage. No account or personal details are requested.

Can teachers use the lemonade stand simulator in class?

Use the worksheet for a prediction, baseline, controlled change, evidence table, break-even check, and reflection. A focused comparison fits in about 30 minutes.

Can I download my lemonade stand results?

Yes. Finish a run and choose “Download results CSV.” The local file records each day’s settings, conditions, demand, sales, waste, costs, profit, ending cash, and reputation for analysis in a spreadsheet. It is created on your device and is not uploaded.
