Give short numbered steps in digital and print form. Read or model the first cycle, define dashboard terms, show a completed evidence row, and state which input to hold constant. Avoid relying on color or location alone.
4. Design equitable participation
Use rotating operator, evidence recorder, analyst, and reporter roles. Let a student contribute through calculation, questioning, checking, or synthesis; do not treat mouse control or speed as leadership or understanding.
5. Offer equivalent evidence routes

Three device plans that preserve the lesson
Individual device
Provide directions outside the simulator window, allow zoom and approved assistive tools, and pause after each run for evidence capture. A student can work with a peer without surrendering ownership of the explanation.
One device per team
Rotate the operator every run and assign roles with the team role cards. Require each student to predict before the group operates and complete a separate calculation, annotation, or exit reflection.
Projected or no-device analysis
The teacher operates while students vote on one controlled change, or supplies two fictional result sets. Students use a worksheet to calculate differences, challenge explanations, and write individual recommendations.
Do not lower the reasoning target just because the interface route changes. The simulator is a source of modeled evidence; it is not the learning objective by itself.
