There is no single numerical answer because each simulator and student strategy produces different results. Look for a defensible process:
- Decision: one adjustable variable is named precisely, such as price, staffing, capacity, or inventory.
- Comparable evidence: both runs use the same scenario and consistent result metrics.
- Qualified reasoning: students say the change is associated with the result inside the model, not that one run proves a universal rule.
- Balanced recommendation: profit or output is considered alongside a customer, quality, worker, safety, waste, or capacity guardrail.
- Useful next test: students propose one further change and name what should stay controlled.
Example response pattern
“We recommend the tested change because profit rose from ___ to ___ while the guardrail metric stayed above ___. The model also showed ___ became worse, so we would next test ___ while holding ___ constant. A real business would still need evidence about ___.”
Differentiate the pack
